Slow Damage log week 2: Taku's route

Updated: Mar 20, 2021

Just because my choices apparently lead to Taku's route first (not that I'm complaining, I love him too)

While I really wish to play Fujieda's route first, after looking up walkthrough, apparently the game flow goes like this:

Taku or Rei route (depends on your last choice in Chapter 1) > Madarame route > Fujieda route (the true route??)

Why is the man I'm gunning for always turn out to be the true route??? After Ren in DMMD and now Fujieda??? Well at least his story is guaranteed to be spectacular and worth all the journey unlocking all other routes... right?

Anyway let's get to the brief synopsis of Taku's route story!

Chapter 3 : Takuma Murase - Nostalgia

Taku is a doctor and the owner of Murase Clinic, who's also some kind of Towa's guardian since Taku's been looking after Towa since he was little. He even rent the 3rd floor of his clinic to Towa, in return, Towa works part-time as the clinic's clerk. Basically he's the typical friendly and kind (and tired) dad character, also he's so earnest and has strong sense of obligation, which sadly only makes him easy to manipulate in this kind of genre, really...

By the way, if you're like me, who thought Taku was mid-30 from his visual... Apparently he's 46 years old.

Forty-six... Oh my god Taku.

(Towa is 26 btw)

Also he's flustered a lot about doing it with Towa in their first H-scene... "Wait wait I've never had one with men before okay how do I do this??" TAKU YOUR MOE GAP IS SHOWING

Now onto his route's story.

We discovered that Taku has a hidden job of developing drugs, under the order of Toono, another one of the potential successor of Takasato yakuza group. In other words, he's Sakaki's rival.

(You know, I think Toono might be Toue's distant relatives. Even their name is similar)

The only reason Taku does this is because Toono has been the one lending him money for his med school tuition, his mother's drug addiction rehab, and so much more, that Taku keeps being pressured to obey his order. Things get even more complicated when Towa got "abducted" by Toono, both to threaten Taku and to piss off Sakaki, since Towa is close to him.

By the way I think I forgot to mention it, but Towa's mother was one of the lover of Takasato group leader who recently passed away. That's why people from Takasato group knows Towa, even if he himself is trying to cut off ties from this yakuza group.

In short, Taku's route story revolves around his conflict between obeying Toono's order and defending his ideal, and his true feeling towards Towa.

(Don't you just want to give him a nice, big hug, and a gentle back massage...)

Taku's route personal impression

I think Taku's route is the "lightest"/"beginner" route, everything are pretty modest, straightforward, and quite vanilla, if I might say... The good end's really sweet and relieving though!

But after that, it makes me wonder that there must be so much more to this game... They must have much darker secrets and whatnot, "heavier" plot with more "satisfying" ending. I like Taku's ending, but I know N+C could offer so much more, which I hopefully could discover by playing other routes.

In previous post I also mentioned Towa's unmotivated attitude makes me irritated, but in Taku's route they show Towa is actually witty, manipulative, could came up with good strategy and willing to do effort to survive... I'm changing my opinion, I like him a bit more now.

Also, Taku's bad ending... as expected of N+C with their famous twisted and grim bad ending LMAO... Taku is not daijoubu and I feel extremely bad to Towa.

By the way, I did mentioned that the Psychological part in this game is so difficult, and that's why I kept failing on Taku's last Psychological part. Apparently, after you failed 3 times, the game will offer you to reduce the difficulty level, which indeed makes it easier to pass the said section.

(ADSJDSFSKG I'M GLAD BUT ALSO I feel being called out as stupid fjdsflsdhsd)

Oh, one more thing: Beware if you encounter Mayu during Exploration part and he asked you to visit his room. You might get his bad ending(?) I mean it does make me a bit uncomfortable but, it's mostly hilarious to me, so, you might want to see it (or just for the sake of completing the CGs)

Trigger warnings for chapter 3 (Taku's route) (as far as I remember):

Self-harm, wound, blood, scars, drugs, being drugged, syringe, crossdress, harassment, hallucination, non-con (bad end only), and obviously 20-years-age-gap relationship with a father figure...

That's all for Taku's route review! Thank you for reading!

The next post will be about Rei's route!
